There are numerous important features to look for when shopping for jogging clothing.

Quick drying: Fabrics that dry quickly, such as nylon and polyester, keep you comfy as you work up a sweat.

Sun protection: Items with UPF ratings supply tested protection against the suns UVA and UVB rays.  The greater the number, the greater the protection.  Watch the REI Expert Advice article, Sun Protection Clothing Basics, for information.

Thumbholes: Many long-sleeve shirts for cool-weather days provide thumbholes to boost hand coverage and heat so that you can possibly bypass the need for gloves.  They also help to keep sleeves in place as you run.  A couple of styles even have mittens built into the sleeves.

Inner liner: Some running shorts comprise an inner lining that serves as underwear.  The lining wicks moisture and dries quickly to reduce chafing.

Packable: Some running jackets and vests pack away in their own pocket for compact storage.

Insulated: Lightly insulated styles offer somewhat more warmth with minimal weight.

Chafe-free seams: Look for horizontal or welded seams put away from areas that can impede your stride or natural running movement.

Mesh vents: Many shirts are augmented with cooling mesh panels for high-heat areas like your back, underarms and sides.

Reflectivity: If you run at night or in the cool hours of dusk or dawn, youll want equipment with reflective accents to be better seen by motorists.

Common on shorts, hidden pockets are occasionally offered on shirts also. Don’t forget your head and extremities for total comfort.  Your vulnerable mind responds to fluctuations in temperature faster than any other part of the body.  It’s easy to carry along a wool or fleece hat for winter workouts to cover your head in cold weather.  A breathable, lightweight hat can also help you remain cool in summer.  For cold-weather exercise, a set of moisture-wicking, breathable gloves is a good idea.  For cool conditions, thin liner gloves might be all that you require.  When you exercise heavily, your feet create a good deal of perspiration.  This may result in blisters if you don't wear artificial or merino wool socks that wick moisture away.  In the winter, this moisture may result in cold feet.  Avoid cotton socks for all but mild workouts.
